Polaroid Humor...

I think I've found one of the best Flickr sites ever! Esoule knows her way around a polaroid camera, and I just love what she does! Her sense of humor is right up my street!! There's too many to post them all, but here are my favorites from her 'Little Zoo' set!! I'm loving the fish and the bear one above, and the ostridge below with it's head in the hole in the wall, I think these are my top 3!!

Do check out her 'Letting the Horses Loose' set - those are just great too!
Here are Esoule's Flickr Site, Etsy Site, and Website!!!

Brainwashed!

Humorous Etsy find! From Trixidelicious... onto vintage plates, cups, saucers and more, she hand paints words such as the seven deadly sins, the seven heavenly virtues, and my favorite "Brainwashed"!
She's been featured in Elle Decoration (UK), O at Home and many more.. for the full tale, check out her blog here!

Double, Double Toile and Trouble!!

Nancy Prator's 'Paris Embroidered Bird'

This morning, while visiting my usual blogs over a hot coffee, I managed to find myself cruising Etsy - Which always seems to a gold mine of inspiration and creativity!

It's here I came across Nancy Prator, who's 'Paris Embroidered Bird' caught my attention immediately. Made from about 100 miniature photocopied maps of Paris, and then ran through a large printing press. She then preceded to draw on the bird and branch, then finishing by hand-embroidering them both. The detail is impressive!

I love this piece, and with it I was hit with so much inspiration!!
After my fun with making the Christmas Stockings for my family, one might think I'd be sick of a needle and thread! But nope, old enthusiasm was ignited and now I think I'm hooked!

Domino Magazine Toile Article, Dec/Jan '09

As I thought about this idea further, I was reminded of a piece of work by Richard as it was featured on his blog spot, Historically Inaccurate, which I had stumbled upon a while back.
Funnily enough, the above article from Domino Magazine featuring Toile and it's come back only fueled my ideas even further!

Richard had featured two Knoll Tulip Chair seat cushions, which he had spent three months embroidering last summer. Adding bright color and a few little, and subtle, humoring twists to a simple piece of toile made these seat cushions something quite special! The detail in the stitching here too, is also very impressive!

Below are my two favorite images from the Domino Toile Gallery, I must say... I do like a bit of this toile myself, in fabric and wallpaper!

Now....where's my needle and thread?!

Blog find!

I just love it when I stumble across a blog that I totally fall for! Today it was Leah Hennen's blog "More Ways to Waste Time". It's probably one of the best blogs I've seen!...And now to take place on my daily reading list! A feast for the eyes, and with serious amounts of inspiration, I love it. She also has an Etsy site showcasing all of her Etsy favorites...what a great idea!!

Thank you Leah!

I Want This Runway In My Closet!!!

Marianne Dress (to diiieeee for!!!!)

If any of you out there have been keeping tabs on Bravo's Project Runway, then you'll know who won it! Leanne was my favorite!!!! I'm so happy for her!! And although I wasn't one for watching the show religiously, or even from the beginning, but I will admit to catching the last few! (the night of the finale consisted of a run for dumplings for dinner on the sofa with my roommate Kim in preparation!!)
Today, I came upon her Itsy shop, Leanimal!! Only to find that I was kicking myself in not finding it earlier and snapping up some of the most gorgeous clothes I have ever seen!!!!! I cannot wait to see what she has next! Everything in her shop is totally sold out (not shocking!!) but I will be keeping my ears to the ground as to when new goodies are created and for sale!! No doubt, they will fly out in seconds flat!
So here I have posted some of my absolute favorites!!! I could have just kept adding more and more and more of her clothes, like the Custom Maxine dress, the Eva dress, the Veronica Dress, the Josefina dress, the Mylena dress..and on!!!! BUT!! I just adddooorrreee the Marianne dress above, and I swear I would pay any amount of money to have this in my wardrobe!!!! Please Leanne, could you make another for me?!!! Pleaassee???!!
